Visit the Government Museum and Art Gallery, to see the art and bronze gallery (closed on Fridays and public holidays). Morning leave for Pondicherry en route visit the magnificent rock temples and carvings in Mahabalipuram. Five Rathas (chariots), ceremonial chariots, rock-cut monoliths, named after the 5 Pandavas. In the afternoon sightseeing tour of Pondicherry visiting Sri Aurobindo Ashram founded in 1920. Visit Pondicherry Museum having a very good sculpture gallery and a section of archaeological finds from the Roman settlement at Arikamedu. Also visit Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. After breakfast at the resort, we hit the road again, to travel to yet another beautiful monastery, Lamayuru. Once capable of housing 400 monks, this monastery is home to about 150 monks in its main hall. Twice a year, the monastery holds dance festivals where monks from neighbouring gompas take part in too. After visiting the oldest monastery of the region, we travel back to Leh for an overnight stay at the hotel.
